Festive pottery tea set for five, including 5 cups, 5 saucers, 5 small plates, sugar bowl and creamer, enamelled in green, red, blue, yellow and black, Pixie pattern of a polka dot design by Broadhurst & Sons; vintage English, 1950s.
Condition: Vintage — some wear to the enamel on handles, glaze with some crazing, no chips
The style was a natural continuation of the Art Deco. It mainly refers to the design period of 1950s and 1960s. Neat straight lines with minimal decoration — functionality of the items and simplicity of design were the key elements. Due to the shortage of resources in Europe, the style was also manifested in the popularity of small scale products.

Pottery care
Porcelain, ironstone and pottery are tough materials. Wash all ceramics normally in a warm water with a sponge. Be gentle with overglaze decorations.
