Opulent Art Deco tea set for four persons, including 4 cups, 4 saucers, 4 plates, a creamer, a bowl and a cake plate, with painted floral decoration on an intense blue ground, by Adderleys; vintage English 1920s.
Condition: minor surface wear
Items in the Art Deco style were often produced using new materials of the period, such as stainless steel, aluminium and Bakelite — an early type of plastic. Bold colours were used to produce attractive design by creating strong contrasts.
