Novelty water jug in the form of a grapes bunch in deep amethyst colour, vine shaped handles, of the Art Deco style by Burgess & Leigh; vintage English 1940s.
Condition: chip on the base rim
Items in the Art Deco style were often produced using new materials of the period, such as stainless steel, aluminium and Bakelite — an early type of plastic. Bold colours were used to produce attractive design by creating strong contrasts.

Pottery care
Porcelain, ironstone and pottery are tough materials. Wash all ceramics normally in a warm water with a sponge. Be gentle with overglaze decorations.
