Beautiful octagonal shaped jug of the Victorian style in ironstone, great for serving water at the dinner table, by Masons; antique English late 19th century.

Products made in the traditional Victorian style are often recognisable because of their lavish decoration. The design mixes various sources of inspiration, but the prevalent decorative features are rich floral ornaments, scrolls and foliage, often applied all over the items.

How to care
Avoid washing gilded and overglaze painted ceramics in a dishwasher. Tiny sand particles in the water will eventually make the decoration look dull.
