Mid-Century Modern water jug
Vintage English,
Spectacular jug in pottery of the Mid-Century Modern style of a flaring shape, great for serving water at the dinner table, by James Kent; vintage English mid 20th century.
Condition: minor surface wear
The style we now call Mid-Century Modern also came as a reaction to the old way of living and was the fresh start, especially in the late 1940s — early 1950s. This was done by creating light, functional designs with straight and clean lines and bold colours. Decoration was secondary; in fact the simplicity became a decoration on its own.

Pottery care
Porcelain, ironstone and pottery are tough materials. Wash all ceramics normally in a warm water with a sponge. Be gentle with overglaze decorations.
