Striking pottery jug with Rubens Ware pattern of the Art Deco style, great for serving water at the dinner table, by Sampson Hancock & Son; vintage English 1920s.
Condition: minor surface wear
Items in the Art Deco style were often produced using new materials of the period, such as stainless steel, aluminium and Bakelite — an early type of plastic. Bold colours were used to produce attractive design by creating strong contrasts.

Pottery care
Porcelain, ironstone and pottery are tough materials. Wash all ceramics normally in a warm water with a sponge. Be gentle with overglaze decorations.
