Antique English,
Slick barrel medium decanter with cut glass gadrooned pattern of the Georgian style, set with a later twisted ball stopper, engraved number 4 on the neck. Perfect for serving whisky or wine; antique English early 1800s.

Georgian period mainly refers to the second half of the 18th century and up to the 1820s. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.
