Unusual square tapered large blown glass decanter of the Arts & Crafts style, set with a sterling silver four spout collar, with cut glass star pattern, set with a tulip stopper. Perfect for serving port, sherry and table wine; antique English, hallmarked for Birmingham 1914.
Condition: some surface wear, clouded inside, makers marks unclear
Arts & Crafts was one of the most important styles in the late Victorian period. Among other sources, the style drew its inspiration from the mythology of the British Isles and from the fabulous legends about king Arthur. The products were designed to a high standard, using traditional materials and techniques.
