View condition. Elegant decanter of the Georgian style with hobnail decoration, set with a bulls eye stopper. Ideal for serving whisky, liqueurs as well as port and sherry; antique English early 1800s.

Georgian period mainly refers to the second half of the 18th century and up to the 1820s. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.
