View condition. Unusual barrel shaped decanter in cut glass with a busy panelled decoration and a prismatic neck, ideal for serving port and sherry; antique English Victorian 19th century. Stopper is not original to the decanter.

Products made in the traditional Victorian style are often recognisable because of their lavish decoration. The design mixes various sources of inspiration, but the prevalent decorative features are rich floral ornaments, scrolls and foliage, often applied all over the items.
