Dining cutlery set for 6
Antique English,
Exceptionally fine and rare silver plated and ivory dinner cutlery set for six, in an original mahogany wooden box with key. Knives and forks delicately engraved with a floral pattern; carved ivory handles set with shell shaped finials. By Pinder brothers of Sheffield, antique English early 1900s. Originally sets of this shape were used for fish courses, but they can also be used for starter, main and dessert dishes.

As a major international style, in different countries Art Nouveau had different names. For example, it was called Jugendstil in Germany, Secession in Austria, Stile Liberty in Italy and Modern in Russia. Essentially this was a new art and design, breaking away from the old, traditional aesthetics.
