Elegant porcelain tea set for six persons, including 6 cups, 6 saucers, 6 plates, a creamer and a bowl, with turquoise and gilded borders, Mid-Century Modern style with Maya decoration, by Noritake; vintage Japanese 1950s.

The style was a natural continuation of the Art Deco. It mainly refers to the design period of 1950s and 1960s. Neat straight lines with minimal decoration — functionality of the items and simplicity of design were the key elements. Due to the shortage of resources in Europe, the style was also manifested in the popularity of small scale products.

How to care
Avoid washing gilded and overglaze painted ceramics in a dishwasher. Tiny sand particles in the water will eventually make the decoration look dull.
How to care
Porcelain, ironstone and pottery are tough materials. Wash all ceramics normally in a warm water with a sponge. Be gentle with overglaze decorations.
