Charming small dessert or serving spoon, silver plated with bound acanthus leaf shaped handle, by Holmes & Edwards; antique American late 19th century.

Egyptian Revival style in decorative arts used elements inspired by the ancient Egyptian culture. First it became popular around the 1800s due to the campaigns of Napoleon Bonaparte in Egypt. More recently Egyptian style was in much vogue after the 1922 discovery of the fabulous treasures of king Tut.

How to care
Wash all silver and silver plated items in warm soapy water with soft sponge, do not scrub; dry thoroughly before storing, to keep the plating last long.
