Spectacular pottery jug of the Art Deco style of an octagonal baluster shape, great for serving water at the dinner table, by Sampson Hancock & Son; vintage English 1920s.
Condition: minor surface wear
The famous novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald was written in 1925 and is set in the contemporary Art Deco period. The story perfectly catches the opulent lifestyle of the Roaring Twenties with its spectacular parties, also known as the Jazz Age.

Pottery care
Porcelain, ironstone and pottery are tough materials. Wash all ceramics normally in a warm water with a sponge. Be gentle with overglaze decorations.
