Beautiful heavy baluster shaped jug with beaded pattern in blue and brown lustre, great for serving water at the dinner table, of the Late Georgian style; antique English 1830s.
Condition: fine
Late Georgian period mainly refers to the early 19th century, up to 1838. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.
