Elegant storage jar in pottery, of large proportions with a wooden lid, decorated in the Saffron pattern by Hornsea; vintage English 1970s.
Condition: small surface chip on the rim of the base
Homewares in the period between 1950s to 1970s were often produced in Modernist style. Defined by neat lines, bold and unusual colours and fairly minimalist shapes. All this often makes Modernist items very functional and timeless.

Pottery care
Porcelain, ironstone and pottery are tough materials. Wash all ceramics normally in a warm water with a sponge. Be gentle with overglaze decorations.
