Luxurious large serving platter in fine bone china in pale blue and white with floral highlights and gilded, Woodland pattern by Royal Worcester; vintage English circa 1960.

The style we now call Mid-Century Modern also came as a reaction to the old way of living and was the fresh start, especially in the late 1940s — early 1950s. This was done by creating light, functional designs with straight and clean lines and bold colours. Decoration was secondary; in fact the simplicity became a decoration on its own.

How to care
Avoid washing gilded and overglaze painted ceramics in a dishwasher. Tiny sand particles in the water will eventually make the decoration look dull.
