Rare serving plate in porcelain with graceful floral decoration by Derby, decoration attributed to Moses Webster; antique English circa 1820.
Condition: chip on back of the rim, some surface wear to the gilding
Georgian period mainly refers to the second half of the 18th century and up to the 1820s. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.

How to care
Avoid washing gilded and overglaze painted ceramics in a dishwasher. Tiny sand particles in the water will eventually make the decoration look dull.
How to care
Porcelain, ironstone and pottery are tough materials. Wash all ceramics normally in a warm water with a sponge. Be gentle with overglaze decorations.
