Spectacular large cut glass rummer with double cushion on a chamfered square foot, delicately engraved with hops and barley; antique English Georgian circa 1825. Ideal for serving wine, beer and large cocktails.

Georgian period mainly refers to the second half of the 18th century and up to the 1820s. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.

How to care

Decanters, wine carafes and narrow jugs can be cleaned using rock salt or rice and vinegar. Salt acts as an abrasive. Rinse well and let it dry thoroughly.

Clouded surface inside a decanter is hard to fix - requires a vibrating machine; but when decanter is full with liquid, the glass becomes transparent.
