Spectacular set of five carved oak dining chairs, upholstered in dark wine velvet, four on front castors, one without; antique English Victorian, mid 19th century.
Condition: old upholstery with some wear, surface wear to the wood
Long Victorian period (1838−1901) spanned over an immensely prolific time in the history of art and design. It covers such great fashions as Gothic Revival, the Pre-Raphaelites, Aesthetic Movement, Expressionism, Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau. That was quite unlike any other period.

How to care
Scratches on solid oak become invisible with time or after polish, because they blend into the irregular oak wood grain. Oak is pretty timeless.
