Jasperware cheese dish
Antique English,
Fancy large ceramic cheese dish with dome lid in blue and white jasperware with oak leaf borders, of the Neo-Classical style, unmarked but probably by Wedgwood; antique English late 19th century.
Condition: some surface wear, glaze stained, scratched, small chips on the base
Neo-classical style looks back at and takes its design inspiration from the ancient Greece and Rome, and uses those elements in decoration. Most neo-classical items are defined by straight and clean lines, elegant repetitive floral patterns, floral garlands and gadrooning.

Pottery care
Porcelain, ironstone and pottery are tough materials. Wash all ceramics normally in a warm water with a sponge. Be gentle with overglaze decorations.
