View condition. Spectacular cut glass medium decanter of the Georgian style with panelled decoration, set with a mushroom stopper. Ideal for serving whisky, liqueurs as well as port and sherry; antique English 1830s.
Condition: chips to the stopper and body
Georgian period mainly refers to the second half of the 18th century and up to the 1820s. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.
