Antique English,
Classical Nelson decanter with a panelled decoration and a three ring neck, barrel shaped with a mushroom stopper. Late Georgian decanter in cut glass; English William IV 1830s.
Condition: small chips on the body and stopper
Late Georgian period mainly refers to the early 19th century, up to 1838. The style was predominantly neo-classical, that looked back at the ancient Greece and Rome and used those elements in design and decoration. Most Georgian items have straight and very clean lines and elegant repetitive floral patterns.
