Elegant cut glass and sterling silver hip flask with faceted shoulders, of the Arts & Crafts style, set with a ball hinged cap, by Mappin and Webb; antique English, hallmarked for London 1902.

Arts & Crafts was a major international movement in design. It started in Victorian Britain in the 1860s, and came as a reaction to the industrialisation and mass production. It was about simple and functional, high quality and skilfully produced homewares and furniture, using simple natural materials.

How to care
To polish lightly tarnished silver plated and silver surface, use silver polishing cloth. Polishing lightly but often makes cleaning much easier.
