Spectacular silver plated metal cake stand or dessert tazza, petal shaped rim with a graceful floral decoration all over. Medium cake stand, a great example of a Neo-Classical style by Barker Ellis; vintage English 1930s.
Condition: some surface wear
Neo-classical style looks back at and takes its design inspiration from the ancient Greece and Rome, and uses those elements in decoration. Most neo-classical items are defined by straight and clean lines, elegant repetitive floral patterns, floral garlands and gadrooning.
