Impressive main course serving bowl in pottery with handles, wavy sides, with colourful floral decoration in flow blue, red, green and gold, Derby Japan pattern by Sampson Hancock; antique English 19th century.

Long Victorian period (1838−1901) spanned over an immensely prolific time in the history of art and design. It covers such great fashions as Gothic Revival, the Pre-Raphaelites, Aesthetic Movement, Expressionism, Arts and Crafts and Art Nouveau. That was quite unlike any other period.

Pottery care
Porcelain, ironstone and pottery are tough materials. Wash all ceramics normally in a warm water with a sponge. Be gentle with overglaze decorations.
