Antique German,
Elegant and very rare ceramic sugar bowl encased with a pewter base and lid, painted floral design, by Orivit; antique German Art Nouveau circa 1900.
Condition: hairline from the rim down, some surface wear to the paint
As a major international style, in different countries Art Nouveau had different names. For example, it was called Jugendstil in Germany, Secession in Austria, Stile Liberty in Italy and Modern in Russia. Essentially this was a new art and design, breaking away from the old, traditional aesthetics.

Pottery care
Porcelain, ironstone and pottery are tough materials. Wash all ceramics normally in a warm water with a sponge. Be gentle with overglaze decorations.
